No-Backspace: Pashto Typing With Delete Off

No-Backspace is a free Pashto typing game that turns Backspace off. Wrong keys are marked and the cursor still advances, so you have to commit to every keystroke instead of leaning on delete.

What this game is

If you fix every typo as you go, you never learn to land the right key the first time. No-Backspace removes the safety net. The stream keeps moving, mistakes stay visible, and your score is WPM × accuracy × duration × difficulty. It is one of the best drills before Sudden Death.

How to play No-Backspace

  1. Choose Easy (45s), Normal (60s), or Hard (90s).
  2. Type the Pashto word stream. Backspace does nothing.
  3. A wrong key is marked as an error and the character still advances.
  4. Watch the soft accuracy warning if you dip below the threshold.
  5. Finish the clock and read WPM, accuracy, and score.

Rules

  • Backspace is disabled for the whole run.
  • Wrong keys count as mistakes and still consume the target character.
  • Easy warns below 85% accuracy, Normal below 90%, Hard below 92% — warnings do not end the run.
  • Duration is 45 / 60 / 90 seconds by difficulty.

Scoring

Score = WPM × (accuracy / 100) × duration × difficulty multiplier (1.0 / 1.25 / 1.5). Clean commits beat frantic corrections you can no longer make.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Backspace in this game?

No. Backspace is turned off on purpose. Wrong keys are marked and the stream still advances so you practice landing the correct Pashto key the first time.

Does low accuracy end the run?

No. A soft HUD warning appears below 85%, 90%, or 92% depending on difficulty. The clock still finishes.

Who should play No-Backspace?

Anyone who overuses delete in Pashto typing. It is also a good bridge into Sudden Death, where a single mistake does end the run.
