About PashtoType

Most typing tutors are built for Latin-script keyboards. Pashto speakers learning to type on the standard Afghanistan Pashto keyboard layout are mostly left to figure it out on their own. PashtoType exists to close that gap: a free, browser-based way to learn the layout, build real typing speed, and practice with genuine Pashto text — not transliterated placeholders.

We built PashtoType around a simple idea: show the keyboard, teach the letters in the order that matters most (starting with the most frequent ones), and let people measure their own progress — WPM, accuracy, and a leaderboard to see how they stack up.

The site is free to use, with no installs required — everything runs in your browser. See what's shipped so far on our Features page.
